Video Frenzy

I spent quite a bit of my time today going through video clips of my time in Haiti back in March. In this clip here you have a chance to meet Miquette, the woman who founded the TeacHaiti School of Hope. I visited the school both in November and March. This is the same school that the French students at RMS wrote letters to--I hope to continue that pen pal connection in the 2011-2012 school year. The students on Team 8-4 at RMS also made alphabet books to share with the kids at TeacHaiti School of Hope as they learn English.
I took this video while sitting in the front seat of the car on my way back from visiting Miquette. I wanted my students to get a sense of what the streets of Port-au-Prince looked like. At one point, you can see right into the back of a Tap Tap. The Tap Tap system is the only public transportation available in cities. I've never ridden a tap tap, and I'm not sure exactly how it all works. I'll put that on my list of things to try on a future visit!
